Change minimum wage
Why the federal minimum wage should be raised to $9 an hour
The impact of a $9 minimum wage
Changing the federal minimum wage to $9 an hour would raise the income for millions of working families. For small businesses that would mean customers with more money to spend. By raising the minimum wage the inequality between white income and black income would decrease because the people who work for minimum wage would have a salary increase.
What it would do
A full time employee that works for minimum wage earns about $14,500 a year. If the minimum wage was increased to $9 an hour their yearly wage would increase to $18,000 a year.
