Landforms
Let's learn about
What is a landform?
A landform is a natural feature of the land around us. Can you name these landforms?
Mountains
Mountains are the world's tallest land form. They have high peaks and steep slopes. There are mountains on land and under the ocean! Most mountains are grouped together in long chains called ranges. Our nearest mountain range is the Appalachians and part of those are called the Blue Ridge Mountains. The tallest mountain in the world is Mount Everest.
Valleys
Valleys are the low places of land found between mountains. Valleys can be made by rivers. Rivers make 'V' shaped valleys. Valleys can be made by glaciers. Glaciers make 'U' shaped valleys.
