Why Vaccinate?
Immunization gives parents power to protect their children
Parents should be required to vaccinate their children to save lives, to protect the herd and to minimize societal costs.
According to procon.org “vaccination is safe and one of the greatest health developments of the 20th century.”
Reasons to Vaccinate are simple!
I know vaccines can be a bit scary... but the benefits outweigh the pain
Vaccines have done their job by decreasing childhood deaths as the CDC “estimated that 732,000 American children were saved from death and 322 million cases of childhood illnesses were prevented 1994 and 2014 due to vaccination.”
Vaccines save families money
Health care all comes at a cost. It is more economical to get your baby vaccinated because in the long run if your child were catch an infectious disease, a lot of money could be lost. This money may be lost in the time you would need to take off work to care for your sick kid or other medical expenses.
Vaccines are risky because every person is different and there is no way to predict how a body might react the vaccine. I do agree with the opponent's argument up to a point, but I cannot accept the overall conclusion that vaccinations should not be expected of parents for their children. When the odds are 1 in a million to encounter life-threatening conditions against the benefits and the immunity of receiving a vaccine, there is no contest. Parents need to vaccinate their children.
