Deep in the Heart of Fulshear

Howdy Hounds!

We want to extend a huge THANK YOU to all of our AMAZING volunteers as we wrap up the end of Volunteers in Public Schools Week. We had a great time Thursday at our Volunteer Appreciation Brunch, and we want to say congratulations to Ms. Angelle Begnaud, our FOH President, for being awarded as our 21-22 Volunteer of the Year. If you were unable to make it, I want to extend personal gratitude to our community of volunteers for always coming together to do what is best for kids. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We also want to say thank you to our Hounds that have contributed to our Dollar Drive! All proceeds will go to the Lamar Educational Awards Foundation, which was established in 2000 to benefit the students of Lamar CISD. It is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization governed by a volunteer board of directors that includes local business, industry, and community leaders. The Foundation provides funds beyond the normal operating budget for educational programs and activities for students and staff. Remember, the winning house will receive an extra special house recess!

Next week, we will be celebrating Administrative Professionals Week here at Huggins! A special shout out to Ms. Judy and Ms. Melissa in the front office for all of the hard work and dedication they give to us!

Finally, we cannot wait to meet our future Hounds at Pre-K and Kindergarten Round-Up and Orientation on Thursday, April 28th at 5:30pm! Please help us spread the word to families that do not yet have a student enrolled. Online registration is officially open, and there is a link below. The building is open Monday, April 25th - Friday, May 6th 8:00am-2:00pm to complete the registration process. We will also open our doors on April 28th from 4:30-5:30 prior to orientation for families to complete registration. Computers will be available if needed.

Don't forget to scroll below to check out the flyers regarding End of Year Celebrations of Learning!

Here's to a wonderful weekend!

School Meals...

Lamar CISD has announced its participation in the Seamless Summer Option for the 2021-2022 school year, offering healthy meals every school day to all students at no cost.

Typically, a student’s household must meet income eligibility requirements to qualify for free or reduced-price meals. However, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued guidance that allows schools to offer meals to all students at no cost for the 2021-2022 school year.

While no application or eligibility determination is required for our students to receive free meals this school year, income eligibility requirements will likely resume in the 2022-2023 school year.

Extra lunch entrees and a la carte items are not included with the no cost meals.
