Career Day

We enjoyed having special guests join us for Career Day. Each person spoke about what their jobs entailed and they gave us the chance to ask questions. Dr. Rose & her assistant, Kathy Miller talked about what an optometrist does. We enjoyed listening to Officer Nate Berry, an Indiana Conservation officer and Royal Myers (Clancy's dad) who shared about an electrician's job.

Math Facts in a Flash

Before Christmas, we began a new program called Math Facts in a Flash. It is designed to enhance the regular math program by reinforcing basic math facts. Students must complete each test of 40 problems in two minutes. If they are successful, they will get to move on to the next level in the program. There is a rewards system in place as they attain each new level. From time to time, they will be bringing the Math Facts sheets home for additional practice, if needed. Congratulations to the following people for passing this week:

Accelerated Reader Prize Incentive Program

Use the following link to view our 2016-2017 AR Prize Incentive Program. We hope this will help you to encourage more reading both at home and at school!

Weekly Reading Street Story

As you are aware, we have started reading stories in our reading books. Please listen to your child read the story every night they bring their book home. The students write down the title of the story in their agenda book so that you know when and what

to practice!

A.R. Books

We will be sending home AR books with your child to read each evening. They will be expected to test once they return to school the following day. These will only be sent on evenings we don’t have a reading assignment in our basal. Happy Reading!
