The Panthers are the #2 seed from District 13-AAA. The Panthers played Lytle on Thursday, November 9 at Comalander Stadium in San Antonio in the bidistrict round of the playoffs. They defeated Lytle 47-0 and will move on to the Area Round to face London. The game will be held at Heroes Stadium in San Antonio on Friday (November 17) at 7 PM.
Basketball teams have started their practices and will be tipping off their seasons soon. The girls travel to Johnson CIty for their season opener on Tuesday (November 14). The varsity boys will play their first game after the Thanksgiving break against Marion (November 28). The JV boys will play in the Pieper Tournament (November 17-18).
Veterans Day
BHS hosted the BISD Veterans Day Program on Friday, November 10. Veterans were treated to a breakfast in the BHS library provided by FCCLA. They were then part of a Veterans Day Program. The Blanco FFA, Student Council, Band, as well as MS and elementary students performed for and honored our Veterans.

Fall Musical UPDATE
All currently scheduled performances of the Blanco Panther Players Disney's Frozen Jr are postponed due to illness. There will be no performances Saturday, November 11th, Sunday, November 12th or Thursday, November 16th. We are working with the rights holders to reschedule for the second weekend in December. Keep an eye out for dates and times!
Food Drive
The BHS Spanish Club and National Honor Society are conducting a Food Drive for the holiday season with assistance from the BHS Special Education Department. Collection boxes are located around BHS. Please help BHS help others by donating items to the food drive.
Construction Update
Construction is complete on the temporary student parking lot and students started parking on it Wednesday. This lot is TEMPORARY and is only chip sealed at the moment. Once the ECA is constructed the finishing touches including adding curbs and topping the parking lot will be completed.
Fencing has been placed around the current (old) student parking lot. The current lot will soon be taken up and construction on utilities for the new Educational Center for the Arts will begin, with the building to follow.
Parent pickup is now in front of the school. Parents can pick up from 3:40-3:50. Buses will arrive at 3:50 and will also pick up in front. So far, the parent pickup line has progressed quickly and there has been no conflicts with the buses.
Check back for more exact dates and details as the construction process progresses.
