One Love Training - Dating Violence Awareness
One Love Foundation is a national non-profit organization with the goal of ending relationship abuse. They empower young people with the tools and resources they need to see the signs of healthy and unhealthy relationships and bring life-saving prevention education to their communities.
State-wide virtual training opportunities are available on March 14 or April 19 from 3:00 p.m. to 4 p.m. Please see the attached flyer and contact Alyson McClintock (amclintock@eatonresa.org) for more information.

These design sessions will start with content specific to the health topic or strand and needs identified by the group. Then the remaining time is available for you to:

- Plan/update assessments
- Discuss new content on requested hot topics
- Network with other health educators from around the county

Compassion Fatigue & Secondary Trauma: Strategies & Practices for the School Professional
This March 22 webinar will provide information on compassion fatigue and outline strategies at the practitioner and organizational levels to promote worker resilience. The webinar is intended for teachers and professionals in allied disciplines, including social work, mental health, and counseling. This session is a collaboration between the Michigan School Health Coordinator's Association (MiSHCA) and U of M's Trauma-Informed Programs & Practices for Schools (TIPPS).

Virtual Health Series
The Michigan School Health Coordinator's Association (MiSHCA) is excited to offer FREE virtual professional learning opportunities to educators and administrators throughout the state. The series will focus on using data as a tool to inform, engage and create opportunities for students. Registration forms are available for the series:
- MICIP: Michigan Integrated Continuous Improvement Process (Spring 2022 - registration coming soon): The MICIP is a pathway for districts to improve student outcomes by assessing the whole child needs to develop plans and coordinate funding.

Safe Routes to School Mini Grant Open for 2022-2023 School Year
Bullying Prevention Initiative Grant open for 2022-2023 School Year
The Family Center for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (Family Center) and Children’s Special Health Care Services (CSHCS) are pleased to announce a small grant opportunity for the 2022-2023 fiscal year. Each school district is eligible to apply for up to $10,000 for their program.
Eligible programs need to demonstrate the ability to meet the following objectives:
- Create safe cultures for children with special health care needs within school communities.
- Provide or enhance the school environment for peer support for youth with special health care needs.
- Increase social and emotional support in schools for children with special health care needs.
- Expand anti-bullying efforts for youth with special health care needs.

Competetive School Safety Grant Program (CSSGP)
The Michigan State Police (MSP) Office of School Safety is pleased to announce that applications for the Fiscal Year 2022 Competitive School Safety Grant Program (CSSGP) are now available at www.michigan.gov/officeofschoolsafety.
The purpose of this grant is to improve the safety and security of students and staff through the purchase and installation of technology and equipment for school buildings or to upgrade hardening measures. Public schools, nonpublic schools, school districts, public school academies, and intermediate school districts are all eligible to apply. Completed and signed applications (including all attachments) must be received via email at MSP-SchoolSafety@michigan.gov no later than 12:00 p.m. (noon) EDT on Thursday, March 24. Questions about the CSSGP can be directed to MSP-SchoolSafety@michigan.gov.

New MOASH Resource launched: The K-5 Consent Toolkit
MOASH, in partnership with sexual violence prevention experts across the state, is excited to announce the launch of a new resource: the K-5 Consent Toolkit!
This resource responds to the needs of teachers, parents, and caregivers for quality consent education for students in elementary school. The toolkit includes recommendations for specific resources - including curricula, videos, books, and websites - as well as best practices for implementing consent lessons with K-5 youth. Also included is an overview of Michigan’s standards for K-5 consent education and a guide to understanding local district policy to advance school-based education in your community.
It's a MiPHY Year!
The Michigan Profiles for Healthy Youth survey is open for students in grades 7, 9, & 11. The MiPHY is an online student health survey offered by MDE & MDHHS to support local and regional needs assessment. The MiPHY provides student results on health risk behaviors including substance use, violence, physical activity, nutrition, sexual behavior, and emotional health. The survey also measures risk and protective factors most predictive of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use and violence. MiPHY results, along with other school-reported data, will help schools make data-driven decisions to improve prevention and health promotion programming.

Families Against Narcotics of Chippewa County
Families Against Narcotics offers several scholarships each year:
One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to an EUP senior student intending to further his/her education at a community college, college, or university in the fall of 2022 studying social work, medicine, education, criminal justice, or first responder training.
A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to one EUP resident, a college student furthering his/her education at a community college, college, or university in the fall of 2022 who is studying social work, medicine, education, criminal justice, or first responder training.
One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to an EUP resident in recovery who is intending to further his/her education at a community college, college, or university in the fall of 2022.
The deadline to apply is Friday, May 6 at 4 p.m.
