Aaron Polensky Hour 5
Introduction
Oh hi their, now I got one question for you , do you like poems. If so this a great place to be. I will be talking and writing about two poems in particular called "Sleeping in the Forest" and " Ode to Enchanted Light" "A cicada sends its sawing song high into the empty air" I thought the Earth remembered me". The elements I will be talking about are Form and Structure, Word choice, and Figurative language.
Tone and Word Choice
In the Poem "Sleeping in the Forest" the tone of the author is relaxing she wants the bad dreams to go away and the good dreams to come back like in lines 11-15. Then, in "Ode to Enchanted Light" the tone of the author is Respectful, He wants the light to come back like in lines 1-3.
Fig. Language
Next, in the Poem "Sleeping in the Forest " some figurative language is "I slept as of never before" meaning she had a wonderful good dreams in lines 5-6. Also, In lines 16-18 by morning "I had vanished at least a dozen times into something better" meaning when she wakes up that is a bad dream because you were in the middle of a good dream. Then, In the poem " Ode to enchanted Light" In Lines 1-2 "Under the trees light has dropped threw the top of the sky" meaning his wish came true.
Structure and Form
Finally, I will be talking about Form and Structure. In the Poem "Sleeping in the Forest" it is centered and one giant stanza. Also, The lines are uneven. Finally, their is rhyming in the middle and not the end of the poem like for example in lines 1-3. Then in the Poem "Ode to Enchanted Light" it has a pattern like, small, big, small, big, big, small sentences and it repeats. Next, Some lines are just one word. lastly, their is a lot of rhythm in it.
Conclusion
I hoped you learned a lot about Form and Structure, Figurative language, and Tone and Word Choice. The main point or idea that i'm trying to cross is that never be greedy or selfish and always give and get The authors style has a lot of similes, rhyming, and metaphors. I hoped you enjoyed this essay. The End
