Western Boone eLearning Day
Information for Students
All students are expected to participate in eLearning days and should expect 2-4 hours of instruction and work during these days. Assignments will be posted by 9:00 AM on the day of the event. Students should access work at that time.
During scheduled eLearning days (9/26/18, 11/28/18, 1/30/19, 3/20/19), teachers will maintain office hours from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM. Parents and students are encouraged to contact the teacher or school at any time during the day, and should expect a response between 1:30-3:00 PM.
On non-scheduled eLearning days, teachers will maintain online office hours from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM. During this time, teachers should be actively communicating with students and parents, responding to emails within 30 minutes, responding to work submissions, participating in discussions, and answering messages.
Elementary students will be counted present when school work is completed during the designated make-up time (within 5 school days following an eLearning day).
Junior high and high school students will be counted present by completing a quiz on the WeBo Student Canvas course. Students will have to acknowledge that they understand that their assignments are posted on Canvas and that they are expected to complete them.
Unscheduled eLearning Days
Assignments will be posted by 9:00 AM on the day of the event. Students must show proof of participation on eLearning days by satisfactorily completing eLearning day assignments within five school days following the eLearning day. If work is not turned in at the end of the fifth school day, student will receive an unexcused absence for the class periods from which the work is missing.
If multiple days are missed consecutively, each additional day missed adds one day to the due date.
- Example: Monday and Tuesday are missed due to inclement weather, Monday's assignments would be due on Tuesday of the following week and Tuesday's assignments would be due on Wednesday of the following week.
Scheduled eLearning Days
Elementary students will have five days after an eLearning Day to complete assignments.
Junior high and high school students will have assignments introduced the day prior to an eLearning Day. Students will have the opportunity to download any resources they need prior to the eLearning Day. All eLearning assignments will be due Friday at 3:00 PM.
