Dear CHS Families,
We had an excellent couple of days of school. The students and staff were fully engaged in building community while teaching and learning commenced in every class. We should all be proud of our entire CHS community of students, families, and staff for the collective dedication for the betterment of our students and school. I am beyond impressed and proud with our entire CHS family and CPS partners. A long time member of the CHS staff told me “This is the best start to school in my time here.”
I want to thank everyone for a great start to the school year with a special thanks to the following: CHS Students, CHS Families, Buildings and Grounds, Principal Clerks, Security, Assistant Principals, Human Resources, School Counselors, Business Office, Deans, Social Workers, Cafeteria Staff, All CHS Educators, Superintendent and Cabinet, CPS IT, Crossing Guards, CPD, Chelsea City Government, and CPS School Committee.
Assemblies will be held this week on Thursday, September 7th and Friday, September 8th with all students. We will review with our students the following: attendance and tardy policy, grading system, new credit system, and graduation requirement.
Tardy tables will begin on Monday, September 11th at 8:00 am. Please encourage your student(s) to arrive on time to school. The first bell rings at 7:55 am and the send bell rings at 8:00 am which is the beginning of 1st period.

House Model at CHS -All students at Chelsea High School are assigned to House 1,3, and 4 separated alphabetically by their first last name, with the exception of House 2 which includes all of our Multilingual Learners.

CHS counselors work with each and every student to ensure academic growth, social and emotional development, postsecondary planning, and effective family and community engagement. We look forward to collaborating with you all to have a great year!
Schedule Change Requests/Solicitudes de cambio de horario
Counselors will NOT meet with students about schedule changes. READ ALL instructions below!

Student or teacher fills out the google form to request a change/ Estudiante o maestro llena el formulario de google para solicitar un cambio
School Counselor will either approve or deny the request/ El consejero escolar aprobará o rechazará la solicitud
ONLY IF class request is approved, school counselor will connect with student about the change/ SOLO SE APRUEBA el cambio, el consejero escolar se comunicará con el estudiante
*Students MUST attend the class in their schedule until advised about any change!

Chromebooks
All students in Chelsea Public Schools from grades 5-12 will be assigned a Chromebook to use at home and at school. This is to ensure they have access to the apps and tools they need in each classroom and allow the opportunity to extend learning beyond the school day. Each student is expected to be responsible for the care of their device and to bring it to and from school every day, charged and in good working order. Students may also leave the device in their locker, if a lock is in place, or another approved location. The Chromebook Care Agreement has been shared through ParentSquare, it must be signed by a parent/guardian(s).
Freshman Students(9th Grade)
Distribution of the Chromebooks will continue on Tuesday, September 5th. Students will receive Chromebooks in their ELA, English, and ELL classes.
Upperclass Students(10,11, and 12th Grade)
Students can get support for Chromebooks needing to be fixed and/or replaced from their House Assistant Principal.
