USD 240 District News-February 2020
Information from the district perspective
The purpose of the newsletter from Superintendent Van Ranken
My goal is to keep you informed as much as possible as to what takes place with the district but in all honesty, we do not have the personnel to do a more regular newsletter well. I will try this electronic format for the 2019-2020 school year in hopes of sharing the positive things as well as the challenges we face in the district.
If you have questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to share them with me, Fred Van Ranken at the USD 240 Central Office by phone at 785-488-3325 ext 401, in person at 107 N. Nelson in Bennington, or via email at fvanranken@usd240.org.

Superintendent Resignation and New Superintendent Search
The USD 240 Board of Education is actively searching for a replacement for my position to take over on July 1. They are using KASB to assist in conducting the search as they do an outstanding job of matching candidates with district based upon desired characteristics.
I just want all students, parent, patrons, and staff at Twin Valley that I have thoroughly enjoyed my three-plus years here. My leaving has nothing to do with this district as much as it was an opportunity for me in the Newton district. What your schools have done to support student learning through the redesign process is pretty amazing. Good people here at Twin Valley Public Schools.
Survey link-Superintendent Search Input
The link will remain active until March 2, 2020.
Parent, patron, student, and staff perceptions of USD 240 Schools
During this process, they interviewed students, staff, parents, and other district leaders. The purpose was to gather perceptions and gain insight about the good things taking place in Twin Valley Schools, especially as it relates to the Redesign Initiative.
If you want to provide input in that regard, please feel free to click the link below and answer the eleven questions. This survey will remain open through the end of February, so the time is short.
