Week of February 13, 2022
A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
Greetings,
Love was in the air this week as Valentine's Day was this past Monday and there was a sea of red throughout the school! From the clothing being worn, to roses and carnations and candy grams, it was wonderful to feel the love and kindness.
Our Renaissance Team hosted a pizza party for all the students in the past marking period who were chosen as student’s of the week! On February 16 there were 24 students being honored. We continue to celebrate each week as students are nominated for student of the week!
The class of 2025 held a fundraiser at Chick Fil A on Tuesday February 16. It appeared to be successful!
On Thursday, February 17, our boys and girls basketball teams were challenged by our unified basketball program to a game after school. The excitement, kindness and enthusiasm by all were so evident and so heartwarming. I’m so proud of all our students and coaches! #EHTPRIDE
We officially welcomed our new Athletic Director, Mr. Kevin Rutlidge, to the district on February 17 in the High School gymnasium.
Also on February 17, the High School hosted the district Orchestra Festival for 6 thru 12 graders. Ms. DiSalvio teamed up with Ms. Wyatt and they conducted an incredible performance from the students.
February 18, the Arts department is at it again! The High School will host the Choral Concert which also includes students 6 through 12. Mr. Tinsley and our two Middle School teachers, Ms. Weatherby and Mr. Guerrasio, will team up to conduct some wonderful vocalists!
We are getting close to March Madness but we are also getting close to finishing our winter seasons. Swimming, Wrestling, Indoor Track & Field, and Basketball are all in the midst of their championship matchups! It’s been an exciting run for all winter sports this year! Make time to come see our students compete!

EHT FCCLA
EHT FCCLA Chapter members have been enjoying FCCLA Week, February 14-18, 2022. FCCLA is celebrating more than 75 years of leadership legacy. Members engaged in chapter activities and each day shared their thoughts about FCCLA and Family and Consumer Sciences education by getting involved in the featured theme. Thoughtful daily questions were developed by Chapter President Nadia Morse. As member Max Statile shared: "The clubs that I participate in help to get me active and provide me the building blocks to work well with a team. The leadership skills that are taught help me to make more practical decisions that I apply in everyday life."
The legacy of leadership is detailed in the bulletin board designed by Madeline Corrington, Max Statile and Zoe Stevenson.

COMMUNITY PRIDE
Student Assistance Program and Resources
The High School has adopted a new bullying-prevention program for this school year!
#DAY1--a staff and student-led philosophy that will serve to foster a building-wide atmosphere of kindness and inclusion.
This program was started a few years ago in Bergen County by the Tyler Clementi Foundation and has gained momentum throughout the state and country for use in schools, community groups, workplaces, and sports teams. We even have 3 of our own students who were selected by the foundation as leaders for this initiative!
The premise is simple: the adults in the building make a “declaration statement” about behavior that is expected, as well as behavior that is unacceptable, and we all pledge to conduct ourselves accordingly. This includes seeking help when we witness unacceptable behavior occurring.
This notion is called being an #Upstander.
Has your student taken their #Upstander Pledge yet?!?
Have them sign into their school account and click here! 😊
