Thoughts from Mrs. G ...
I don't know about you, but I totally did NOT get all of my summer things done! My linen closet is still a mess, the bathroom never got painted and I certainly did NOT get around to cleaning out my garage. But, I was able to spend some good time with my kids. And I feel like that is what really matters. We only get our kids for a short 18 years before they can't wait to get out of their parent's house and start their own lives. Maybe then I'll make time to clean out my garage.... nah, probably not. HA!
Soon, your little schnookums will be full-fledged Middle Schoolers! This is the time that the kids will start doing TikTok dances down the aisle at the grocery store. You will no longer be "Mom" or "Dad", but now you will be referred to as "bro" and for the more advanced kids, "bruh". Try not to worry too much, you will still be able to REALLY embarrass your kids at this age. A simple "I love you!" shouted from a car window at drop-off will cause the most soul-satisfying cringe from your child.
