MCA Weekly Wrap-Up!

Primary & KinderPrep Family News - August 17, 2018

Dear Families,

We have had a wonderful first week of school! It has been so much fun to see all of our students return, looking just a little bit more grown-up!

In the elementary school, there were lots of hugs and smiles as friends saw each other for the first time in a few months, and many opportunities to make new friends as we welcomed new families to Maranatha. Next week we will have our Elementary Back-to-School Night for families to learn more about your children's classrooms and teachers for this school year.

In preschool we had some changes this week, but we are excited to have a new face starting next week with Miss Paula in the Red Room. KinderPrep is off to a great start! It's easy to forget how tiny those friends are at the beginning of each year, but we can't wait to watch them grow!

At MCA we are so excited about beginning a new year with you! This year's theme verse is from Romans 12 and we are going to be learning all year about how we can become stronger as the body of Christ. We are looking forward to a year of being "Body Builders"!

Pets at Pick-Up

We love seeing those cute pups in the car at drop off and pick up! MCA has an adorable family of fur-babies (including my own dog, Maxwell, shown in pic to the left)! However, please help us make sure we keep our kids and critters safe by keeping your dog inside the car during dismissal. Thank you!

Handbooks and Paperwork

MCA Family Handbook- Don't forget to read over the 2018-19 MCA Parent-Student Handbook and return the Signature Page to the office. There are sections for KinderPrep and elementary, as well as school-wide information.

Please return all information forms to the school offices as soon as possible.

Green MCA Polo Shirts

To help show school spirit and keep kids safe traveling on field trips, we ask our elementary students to wear a green MCA polo when we take trips off campus, as well as occasional chapels. If you need to order one of these shirts, you can complete this form.

After School Care Update

Please see the following note from Mrs. Thomas, Assistant Principal, regarding After Care:

Parents of students in After-school care, Good afternoon! I pray your students have had a great first few days of school. I love seeing lots of activity and smiling faces around here!

We have made an adjustment to our After-school care program that will only affect our students on the South campus. Beginning Monday, August 20th, we will transport students from the South campus to the North campus for After-school care at 3:30. Having After Care students in one location will make pick up for parents more efficient. Having After Care students in one location also aids the school in maximizing use of its care providers. We will need to make sure we have the Activity & Transportation Agreement on file for your child. I’ve included the link to the website so you have easy access to the form if you need it. Also, please make sure you have filled out the After-school care enrollment paperwork for your child(ren). Here is the link to the school website where you’ll find all the needed paperwork: If you have any questions, please let me know at Reminder: if your child is not picked up by 3:30, they will now be transported to the North campus for pickup at your convenience.
