1913 relates atomic structure to the galaxy

Bohr's theory

This atomic theory was a combination of Rutherford's work and ideas of the atom with Planck's quantum theory. His theory states that electrons should move around the nucleus, but only in prescribed orbits.

Problems With Theory

The issue Bohr had, was that the electrons move too fast within the atom to pinpoint their exact location. He had no way to prove that his theory was correct. Bohr ended up making a model that showed an approximation of quantum mechanics, the correct theory of an atom.
