May 10-14, 2021
Dear Midland Families,
I want to thank you for the many ways you showed appreciation to our teachers this past week! Your encouragement really lifted the spirits of our hard working teachers! This is nurse appreciation week. If you have not met Patti Thomas, she is our new school nurse and she's doing a great job.
This week I want to invite you to our first "in-person" school event in over a year! On Thursday night, we are hosting a walk-a-thon and a food drive from 5:00-6:30pm on our playfield. The food collected from now to the end of May will help our own Midland families with some non-perishable food for the summer. We invite you to come, bring a food item, walk around our playground with your family, win prizes, and have fun! I hope to see you there.
You have probably heard from your child's teacher about attending a conference. If you have not yet scheduled a conference, you can use this link to sign up today! Be sure to choose your child's teacher's name, your preferred date and time, and then complete the form so we know if you want to come in person, and if you would like a translator.
I hope all of our Midland moms had a wonderful Mother's Day! You are loved!
It's great to be a MUSTANG!
~Dr. Paula Dawson

Please note that if you live in the Bethel School District, you must contact them directly to get your release. Registration for the 2021-22 School Year:
Registration for new students enrolling in the 2021-22 school year is now open. We will be registering only new kindergarten through 5th grade students who live within our attendance boundaries, or have daycare in our area. Current students are automatically enrolled for next year, with the exception of overload students who will return to their home schools for 2021-22. To be eligible for kindergarten, children must be five years of age by August 31, 2021. All registrations will be done on-line at www.fpschools.org . Click on the red "Enrollment" circle, then click "Enroll for 2021-22", and complete the registration paperwork. Enrollees must attach a copy of your child’s birth certificate, immunization records, and proof of residence during the registration process.
Midland wants to STOP Covid at the door!
Just a reminder that you need to complete a health screening questionnaire EVERY morning by 8:30 am. This survey will come to your email, but you can also set it up to be sent as a text to your phone, for easy completion. If you have not filled out the form, your child will not be allowed to enter class until we have heard from you to answer questions, and have your child's temperature taken. Please see the button below for specific information regarding the Daily Health Check, as well as what to do if you are having trouble receiving the email.
PLEASE do your part before school, so that your child can go to class when they arrive.
- Students will be required to wear a mask on the bus, in the halls, in class, and at recess.
- Students will wash hands and use hand sanitizer throughout the day.
- Students will sit 6 feet apart in the classroom.
If your child has been exposed to COVID, or if they are showing symptoms of illness, you may not send them to school until they have been quarantined and symptom free for 14 days. Teachers will provide work for students during this time. We are counting on everyone to keep Midland safe for all students and staff. Thank you!
Midland PTA Needs YOU!
The PTA is a group of parents and family members who meet for an hour once a month. They create ideas for activities and provide support to our classrooms. PTA can be a very FUN opportunity! While the past few years we have focused on fundraisers, it woud be great to have more familiy activities and celebrations. We want to focus on more family involvement and non-traditional events which celebrate cultures and supports for families.
If you are interested, please email Mrs. Dawson (firstname.lastname@example.org) or call the school office. Training is provided and there is lots of support for our PTA.
Thank you in advance for considering how you can participate and keep our PTA!
