MAP Testing
We are approaching the Fall window for MAP (Measures of Academic Performance) Testing at HSES. This is an online assessment administered to all students in first though eighth grade, county wide. There is no preparation needed other than a good night's sleep, a good breakfast, and being at school ready to learn. This assessment provides teachers one data point to identify academic strengths and areas of need for your child. It also allows you to track your child's progress over time. The results of the assessment will be sent with your child(ren) once they become available. If you would like more information about the MAP Assessment you may visit the following link: https://www.hcpss.org/academics/testing/map-information/

2 Days Away - Boosterthon!!!
Hi parents! The fun run is just 2 days away, and we are getting so close to our fundraising goal! As of today, we have raised over $17,000 which is just over 75% of our overall goal. Remember we would like to go above this and support 3 additional classrooms. Let’s do it Hollifield!
Tonight’s challenge is called “PJs for a Pledge.” If your students earn a new pledge of any amount, they may wear their favorite, school-appropriate pajamas to school tomorrow! To earn this incentive, your student can log their new pledges on funrun.com tonight, or they can bring the donations to their teachers tomorrow as well.
Thanks for supporting Hollifield Station!
***We are keeping our eye on the weather for Wednesday, and will make the call tomorrow on whether students will be running outdoors or indoors. Please note that if the run is to be held indoors, we will unfortunately not be able to have parents come and watch, due to safety reasons. Stay tuned for more information!
If we are able to run outdoors, we still need volunteers to help to pass out water or keep the track clear: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050545abad2da5f85-boosterthonf
Reminder - Distribution of community flyers in schools: Community organizations wishing to distribute flyers must have an approval letter from the Public Information Office prior to distribution. Electronic announcements must also be pre-approved, and will be posted on the Community News and Programs webpage. Please include the following statement in your school newsletter rather than individual community announcements: Please visit the Community News and Programs webpage (http://www.hcpss.org/community-news-and-programs/) for all announcements of upcoming events and programs sponsored by non-profit organizations. Schools should refer any organization requesting distribution to Public Information at 410-313-6682 or publicinfo@hcpss.org.
