The Serene Scoop
Serene Hills Elementary School --- Nov. 5, 2021
In a continued effort to streamline notifications and reduce the amount of emails parents receive pertaining to COVID-positive individuals, Lake Travis ISD has transitioned its communication to Skyward Family Access. The new format lists the sender’s name at the top and then your student’s name in the “Regarding” line and this does not indicate that your student is being identified as a positive case. Please note, there are circumstances where you may still receive additional email notifications from transportation, child care or extracurricular activities.
Should you need to update your communication preferences in Skyward Family Access, please follow the steps highlighted in the corresponding link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVq7z3oG1aE
In other news, thanks to our outstanding APEX fundraiser through PTO, we have begun the necessary planning to implement a STEM Lab. We are so excited to get this space up and running to benefit our students.
LTEF also stopped by with a nice treat today. These funds will be used to create collaborative spaces, improve our motor lab, and other instructional materials. We are so grateful for our community's support.
We hope you enjoy your weekend!
Warmly,
Keegan Luedecke
SHE Principal
Upcoming Dates:

Nov. 15th-18th: Scholastic Book Fair (open until 6pm Thursday. Nov. 18th)
Nov. 16th: Fall Photo Retakes

Next Week in Second Step:
We all want to have friends here at school. But people can have similar or different feelings about the same situation. For example, I might feel scared to climb up high, and my friend might feel excited. Learning to respect other people’s feelings can help us make and keep friends! This week, notice other people’s feelings and whether they’re the same or different from yours.
