NOVEMBER Happenings
Can you believe it's almost the holidays?
This semester has been flying by!
I want to take this time to remind everyone that I am here for you. If you need help implementing technology into your curriculum and with your students please let me know. I am here to plan with you and co-teach lessons in your class. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving break and takes advantage of the long week break!
Look What's Going On In Our Tech World
Mrs. Wade's 6th grade
We found figurative language in the text and then created a collage on PicCollage with the chosen phrases. Afterwards, they drew a simile that could fit into the text and smashed it into PicCollage.
Tech Club at Smith Elementary Sponsored by Mrs. Shoemake
The students have had a blast earning badges and learning about all the apps our iPads have to offer.
Mrs. Boyles' Pre-K
We have been practicing counting and patterns with Doodle Buddy. The students love being able to learn with iPads.
Mrs. Heidleberg's 6th grade
We are creating Explain Everything videos about what we have learned. Students will post these to their websites for all the view.
Mr. Cota's 1st grade
Students are taking pictures of the text and making predictions in Popplet. You can write with the text tool, draw with your finger, and add pictures in Popplet.
Mrs. Hardee's 4th grade
Students wrote a rough draft of a story and then recorded them reading their story. They edited their paper as they listened to their recording.
Mrs. Oldacre's 2nd grade
Students are using white boards to work problems and the teacher is having one student work problems on Explain Everything with air server. This is another fun way to assess math knowledge.
Mrs. Pricer's Pre-K
Pre-k students are going on a shape hunt and collecting shape pictures to make a collage.
Mrs. Shoemake's 2nd grade
Students are doing a Kahoot with social studies about wants and needs. The best thing about Kahoot is you can do it on laptops and iPads!
Most teachers have Air Server they just don't know how to access it.
On your iPad: Swipe up from the bottom of your iPad (the control panel will appear), Click AirPlay, find your computer name and swipe to green for mirroring
If you do not see your computer number or your name: Go to your computer, go to the Finder man, click Applications, and double click air server.
If it does not work, email me.
Did you do something with technology that was a WOW moment? Email me about it to get featured on my website and MISD's tech twitter!
