Elementary Students New COVID Testing Information and Location Letter
Anyone who wants to utilize this free COVID-19 testing program must pre-register at least 48 hours in advance. Please note that parents MUST accompany their elementary child to the testing site. The link is below. Please read the letter above for all up-to-date information effective February 24th.
Nurse Update:
Please be reminded that students must be fully vaccinated in order to avoid quarantine if exposed. In accordance with the Department of Health guidance, an individual is considered up to date after having received all recommended doses, including a booster dose when eligible. Fully vaccinated means at least two weeks past the completion of the series and a booster if applicable. Please ensure that the school nurse has a copy of your child’s vaccination card if applicable to avoid unnecessary quarantine.
New Communication - District TEXT Messages for Parents
PLEASE CHECK - In PowerSchool, some parents and guardians only list their home landline phone numbers. We need cell phone numbers entered for this new feature. If you would like to receive these district TEXT messages, please make sure that your cell phone numbers are entered and are correct. (See the attached “School Messenger Text Messaging Document” attached, for details)
Please remember to follow these steps to ensure you will receive the TEXT messages:
· First, parents need to add their cell phone numbers to PowerSchool. (If they are not in there already)
· Parents can do this by logging into PowerSchool (from a web browser, not the phone app) and clicking on "Forms" in the left menu.
· Then, parents need to click on the "(AA) Student Contacts / SchoolMessenger" form.
· Parents then click on the "Pencil" icon next to their contact information and "Add" their cell phone number to the record.
· It would be very helpful if parents indicate the "Type" as "Mobile", so we can pull the cell numbers faster.
· Finally, scroll down and hit “submit” at the bottom of the page.
REMINDER - Don’t forget to follow instructions on the attachment to opt-in to the feature.
