Dress Down and Donation to victims of Hurricane Harvey
Students may wear dress down bottoms and tops for $1.
All money raised will benefit Hurricane Harvey - Red Cross Relief
Students may still wear spirit wear top and uniform bottoms and will not have to pay $1
DROP OFF procedures
Parents are pulling through the parking lot and dropping off students then joining in the car line. This is causing a delay for parents driving through the car line to drop off students the way we have asked.
Parents pulling into the parking lot and dropping off, will not be able to pull into the car line to exit from 7:35 until the drop off line is complete. If you have to drop off your child because of a project or help them bring something into school and need to depart between 7:35 and 7:50, we ask that you do so before 7:35.
As always, please do not exit out of the entrance to the parking lot. This is unsafe for cars entering the parking lot.
Numbered parking spots are for student drivers only.
Thank you

Please have your student wear his or her NCLA Spirit Shirt or PE Uniform shirt if you have one available. All you have to do is ask Harris Teeter shoppers to link their VIC card to 1984 to support the NCLA! This is an easy way to earn volunteer credit and get your grocery shopping done afterwards. Last year we raised almost $1200 with 210 participants. I would love to see those numbers increase. We currently have 18 participants since we had to re-link starting August 1st.
If you have any questions, please contact Debby Koonce (our NCLA Harris Teeter TIE Coordinator with any questions. She can be reached at debbykoonce@gmail.com.

Calling all 6-10th graders to join Crosby Scholars
At the Crosby Scholars Community Partnership, we help students in public middle and high schools in Forsyth County prepare academically, personally, and financially for college admission and other post-secondary opportunities best suited to a student's needs, aptitudes and dreams. We are a partnership of the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust, the United Way of Forsyth County, the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools, and The Winston-Salem Foundation. On July 1, 2012, Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina, Inc. and the Crosby Scholars Program formed an alliance establishing Crosby Scholars as an independent affiliate of Goodwill. With a 25-year history of providing academic training, financial aid and college application workshops, advisory services, college tours and Last Dollar Grant scholarships, Crosby Scholars now serves more than 10,000 students per year.
Who can join? When?
Crosby Scholars accepts applications from students enrolled in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County public schools in 6th through 10th grade. The application is online and will be available on our website from August 15 -October 1, 2017 for the 2017-2018 school year.

Volunteer Opportunities
CHAT
We have immediate openings for CHAT (Clerical Helpers Assisting Teachers) volunteers and are in need of a few team leaders. CHAT meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 8am-10am to do things for our teachers, such as making copies, laminating, making booklets, cut-and-paste projects for crafts, etc. This is a fantastic way to directly help our teachers and students. Please contact Amber Brannon at Ambernbrannan@gmail.com or just show up on Tuesdays/Thursdays.
“Brandi’s List”
Please see here for current volunteer opportunities. We’re currently in need of help with VIC Card Linking Events and the upcoming GaGa Tournament.
