PANDEMIC ELECTRONIC BENEFIT TRANSFER (P-EBT) PROGRAM- APPLY NOW!

The Department of Human Services (DHS) and the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) announced recently that Oregon families with children who are eligible for free or reduced-price school meals will get cash benefits for the meals they would have received at school even if they have been accessing meals from schools during the closure. This means you can access the free meals available at areas schools Monday-Thursday and receive additional benefits. Families affected by COVID-19 may still apply for free and reduced meals for this school year.

Oregon is the recipient of a grant to provide funds to children experiencing food insecurity during this Pandemic. The Oregon Department of Education Child Nutrition Programs is supporting the Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) program by collecting data from schools. If your child is eligible, you will be contacted shortly by the Department of Human Services (DHS). Instructions will be included to activate or refuse benefits.

Please keep an eye out for this email. If you have any questions, concerns, or are in need of resources, please continue to reach out to her. You can reach her by email at alexandria_wesenberg@beaverton.k12.or.us or phone at 503 356-3842.

Our office staff will be available from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm Wednesdays. Due to construction, we will be based out of a Module classroom. Safe Routes to School Survey - Due by May 31

A message from Leah Biado-Luis, Beaverton Safe Routes to School Coordinator:

It’s data collection time again for Beaverton’s Safe Routes to School program. The purpose of this program is to make walking and biking to school safe, convenient and fun.

Parent’s and guardian’s input into how students travel to and from schools and their impression of the safety of the route is valuable as the city and county prioritize needed improvements for our roads.

The following link was generated from the National Safe Routes to School Center and will be used to give us a good picture of how students are getting to and from schools throughout the district.

We appreciate your help in giving us information to make our program effective for all Beaverton School District students.
