I interveiwed...
The person in my family, whom which I interveiwed was my dad.
What years were you in middle school?
1960-1961
What kinds of music, movies, and fashions were popular at that time?
Some interests back when I was in middle school would be Rock 'n Roll, bell-bottom blue jeans, and Disney (for younger kids).
What were your favorite activities in middle school? What were your hobbies and interests?
My interests were playing in the woods, board games, cards, and earning money. $
What job/interests/activities do you have now? Is there a connection between what you like back then and what you enjoy today?
Yes, in fact there is. I still enjoy earning money, but I have also liked more things I didn't expect I would enjoy. Some of these things would be selling antiques, jewelry, and other old stuff.
What was the best part about being in middle school?
The best part about being in middle school? Well that would be hard to choose, I honestly liked most things in middle school. The things I liked the most would have to be, being with my friends and learning.
What was the worst part?
The worst part, most likely the same thing as your's! It would have to be tests and homework. I never enjoyed those when I was a kid.
How would you describe your middle school self?
My middle school self was a quiet, shy, and lonely kid.. I didn't really enjoy doing much with others.
What advice about growing up would you give to kids my age?
Well, I might sound like ever other parent, but I might as well say it. Study hard, get good grades because it will pay off. Don't feel bad or awkward about anything! Just do your best and go for it!
Did you ever feel misplaced? If so why?
Sure, I've felt misplaced. Most likely because of my weight, I was always a bigger man than others. Sometimes I felt like a freak whenever someone said something like," Oh yeah well, your probably bigger than him!" Then they'd point to me, and I would feel embarrassed and I felt like a freak.
Was it stressful with school work? Homework? Friends?
Nope! Never was, I was a straight A student, so lots of the things I was given were easy to do for me. For friends, well I wasn't popular, but I was in a group where I belonged. Which was with my friends.
