Updates and Reminders

Eastview Elementary School - April 29, 2016

In our planning, work, and reflection over this year we have identified four components to continue developing. Our vision is to continue to problem solve and work in these areas in order to continue moving our students forward. As good as we are, we can always get better! The following are in no particular order:

  • Relationships
  • Clearly defined purpose for everything we do
  • Time on Task
  • Authentic Learning

I'm brining this up now because I would like to challenge all of us, yes every single person that works in this building, to reflect upon ways we can each improve in these four areas. Some changes could be immediate; my hope is we can come back in August with a unified sense of urgency to make improvements in these four areas throughout our school (every classroom, common area, procedures, etc). Please share thoughts and ideas with all of us as you have time to reflect. I'll also be eliciting your thoughts in future meetings and conversations.

Thank you all for your support!

Walking Challenge

Congratulations to everyone that was able to participate in the walking challenge, and thank you for making it so much fun! I hope everyone can take part next year! We would like to make this event bigger and better!

In case you were not available at the end of the day, the final results have been posted and the prizes for the winning teams are in the office.

I would like to get a group photo of everyone that participated this year at 2:45 on Monday. I know some of you leave before that time and understand if you are not able to stick around. There just isn't a time when everyone is in the building at the same time.

I would also like to especially thank Sarah for organizing the event, and Brenda J. for tracking our progress.

  • Please remember to utilize the gymnasium as much as possible when taking students to lunch for the next week.

  • Remember to send change of transportation notes to the office in the am.

  • Students are to go home their routine way unless there is a phone call or

note to change that. If a student is adamant there is change, please contact parent before the end of the day to verify.

  • Please remember to let both Brenda and I know if you are going to be out for a sick or personal day. Please do not just put this in Aesop without letting us both know. An email to both of us is fine.

To Do

  • Please see "End-of-Year Checklist"

  • Please read the article below transformational lessons.

This needs to be completed by all classroom teachers who are involved with the project.
Please share with building principals and leadership team members and ask them to have their staff complete these surveys no later than May 15, 2016.
