Mr. Ramirez

Hello parents!

Can you believe it is already April? Two more months and this school year is over, and your student will be moving on to Kindergarten! The end of the school year is always a very exciting time for the school, students, and teachers, because there are always a lot of activities to be done. In this newsletter you will find some information about the happenings in my classroom, and in the school. If you have any questions, or want additional information, please feel free to contact me at

Thank you!

Lesson Plan Highlight

This week, I am teaching your student about the difference in between letters and numbers, in accordance with TEK V.A.9.: Child recognizes one-digit numerals, 0-9. Your student should be able to recognize numbers from letters, and should be able to use numbers properly. I encourage you to count things out with your child, or to reinforce this lesson plan goal in any way you see fit. As always, it is beneficial for your student to apply the lessons he/she has learned in school.

Field Trip Reminder

Friday, April 11th, 11:30am-1:45pm

5555 Hermann Park Dr

Houston, TX

Remember that in two weeks we will be taking a classroom field trip to the museum of natural science. We will be taking a tour of the entire museum, and will be spending extra time at the dinosaur exhibit, to emphasize our recent science lesson on dinosaurs. If any parents want to volunteer to chaperon, please get in contact with me. Also, do not forget to sign your student’s permission slip before Friday of next week.

Upcoming Project

Next week in class we will be making timelines in class. We are learning about reading and making timelines in class, so the project consists of your student making a timeline of their life. Please help your child chose pictures of them from various ages. For example, you could find a picture of what your child looked like from age 0-4/5, depending on how old your student is. I will also be asking them to look into the future with their timeline, so if you could help your student print a picture of what they want to be when they grow up, that would be great.

Box Top School-wide Competition

Care Elementary is going to be holding a Box Top fundraising competition! Each grade is competing against each other to see who can raise the most money for the school. Please look around your house for box tops, ask your family, neighbors, friends, and enemies! Let's show those older grades that Pre-K is the best!

If you need help figuring out where you can find Box Tops you can visit their website which is embedded below.
