Conference - "ENVISION 2020" by UCSD-SWE

Envision 2020 will be on Saturday, February 8th, 2020 and will take place at UCSD. Student check-in is from 8:00 am to 9:00 am, and the program will conclude at 4:30 pm.

The conference, organized by the UCSD Society of Women Engineers (SWE) section includes hands-on engineering activities, professor and student panels, a project fair, and more! This conference is designed for high school girls from 9th-12th grade to learn more about career possibilities in engineering and STEM.

There is also a Parent Program component to provide parents with important information on how to prepare your student for college, which includes a speaker presentation from a SWE Professional Member, a student panel, and a financial aid presentation. More details HERE.

Sweetwater STEM Research Fair

AKA "Science Fair"

Back in the good old days, we used to have "Science Fairs", but in an effort to reflect the wide variety of project categories involved in the fair, we ere upgrading, revamping, and renaming our traditional science fair into "STEM Research Fair" to capture what the fair is all about - playing, discovering, and researching with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM)

USD - Expanding your Horizons Conference for Girls - March 14

The annual STEM conference is for girls in grades 6-10th. Girl participants will be grouped & connected with STEM professionals in the San Diego community. Each group of 15-20 girls will be mentored by 2-3 female STEM undergraduate students, providing the girls with additional STEM-based interactions. Our goal is to increase the girls’ interest in STEM careers by providing exciting and engaging hands-on learning experiences.

Super Hack: San Diego's First High-School Hackathon

San Diego, America's finest city, is faced with an issue. Despite the plethora of educational opportunities and creative minds, students aren't actively encouraged to "make." While theory is in our future, practicality must not be overlooked, and the art of practicality is derived through events such as hackathons. In lieu of this demand, Super Hack was started with one goal and one goal only in mind: create an event revolving around making.
