RMS Weekly Event Calendar
October 17 - October 21
What's going on this week!
It is hard to believe that we have completed one-fourth of the school year! Time is moving so fast and it will be Christmas holidays before you know it. Our RMS football team ended the year with a 6-1 record and our volleyball teams ended with a 12-10 record for the 8th grade and an 8-7 record for the 7th grade. Congratulations to our players and coaches for a job well done! As you can see from the schedule below, after school events have slowed down for a couple of weeks until we crank up basketball season.
However, I know that doesn't mean things are slowing down in the classroom. We are doing a lot of great things with our students and it is evident as I go into classrooms. But.....it is also the time of year when it is easy to get tired, frustrated, and overwhelmed...especially since it has been several weeks since we have had a break. It is becoming evident that our students are beginning to feel these same things with the number of office referrals we are seeing!
As I watched the video above, it was very heartwarming, but it also made me think about when times are tough, challenging, and sometimes seem impossible, we have to surround ourselves with those that will lift us up...go the distance...and never let us give up. It is very difficult, if not impossible, to accomplish our goals by ourselves. If you think about it, you are not where you are today without the help, support, and encouragement from others. It may have been a parent like is shown in this video, but I know that it could also have been a special teacher, who believed in you and refused to let you give up...even when the going got tough!
As we continue this Kindness Revolution Campaign, I encourage you to lift someone up. It could be a student or even a co-worker. Let them know that you are here to support and encourage them so that they can achieve their goal of finishing the race...whatever that race may be. Together we can achieve so much!
This week I challenge you to look for someone you can "lift up". Have a fabulous week at RMS!
