Kindergarten is in the middle of their deciduous forest unit. The students were able to explore some of the forests located on Maclay’s campus with binoculars to see some of the animals that live there.
First and second grade classes are learning about the water cycle and precipitation. This has been a great unit so far. We will also collect and measure the amount of precipitation received over a period of time here on Maclay’s campus.
Third and fourth grade is in the final stage of their birdhouse project. We have learned about some of the simple tools used during the construction and how to use them. As we research locations on campus to install the birdhouses, students will be able to learn more about the habitats and ecosystems in which these shelters will be placed.
Fifth grade is in the middle of their air pressure unit. We have done several labs so far and have a few more to complete. We only have a few weeks left this semester but each day will be a blast.
