Top Texans
We loved getting a chance to recognize our "Top Texans" for the first nine-week period at our Spirit Rally this week. Each teacher was able to select a learner from their class to recognize based on a positive character quality. We had learners recognized for their kindness, responsibility, inclusivity, patience, among other qualities. We love getting to celebrate our TCE Texans in different ways throughout the year.
Picture Retake Day
Wednesday, October 11th is Picture Retake Day. If your student was absent or you would like a retake of the first picture day photo, you can pre-order today at https://my.lifetouch.com/mylifetouch/#/.
You will need your child's student ID or your Picture Day ID (EVTN4JC93). Paper copies are also available in the office.
TCE Color Run
Town Center Color Run - October 20th 5:30-7:00 PM - A Note From PTO
Our Color Run is just a couple of weeks away! Our Color Run is our biggest fundraiser of the year. Funds raised will pay for the classroom grants we fund in November, field trip buses, Field Day, and Teacher Appreciation Week. Here are the details:
The fundraiser runs through October 20th. Every TCE student will receive a free Color Run shirt and be able to participate in the run on October 20th at no cost. Any parents and/or non-TCE kids that would like to participate can register to run for $20 by clicking here.
Each class has created a goal/rewards chart for donations that come in under their name/class. The more the class raises, the more rewards the class enjoys together! You can donate online at www.towncenterpto.org or send cash or check (payable to TCE PTO) in an envelope with your child's grade and teacher. Registering family members counts towards the class donation. Make sure to send out the donation link to grandparents and anyone that would like to donate.
The classes will earn their rewards together, as a team, but the top two earners in each grade will be recognized and get to start their grade's run first.
Pizza can be preordered here. Drinks and frozen treats can be purchased at the run.
If you have any questions, you can email Heather Thurgood at president@towncenterpto.org.

Thanksgiving Baskets - A Note from Nurse Crenshaw
St. Ann’s Catholic Parish is once again sponsoring Thanksgiving basket deliveries (or a pickup option at St. Ann’s Church if you prefer). This program provides families in need with a complete Thanksgiving dinner for the entire family. The baskets will be delivered to your home the weekend before Thanksgiving, so it is important that an adult representing the family be at the home between the hours of Noon and 4PM on Sunday November 19th, 2023. The deadline to sign up for a basket is October 20th, 2023.
Please completely fill out the following form by clicking this link: 2023 St. Ann's Thanksgiving Baskets. You may contact Nurse Crenshaw with any questions at kcrenshaw@coppellisd.com or 214-496-7816.
Lunch Visitors
We are excited to open our campus again for FRIDAY lunch visitors in this 2nd 9 weeks! We know this is a special treat for families. Thank you for your attention to the process and details below so we can keep safety a priority with visitors coming in and out of our building.
Here are some answers to questions you might have:
What is the process for visiting my child at lunch?
1. Sign-in at the office
Lunch visitors will be required to sign in at the front office and receive a visitor badge that must be worn at all times. We will need to see a photo ID (either your license or passport).
3. Eat lunch with your child
You will be able to eat lunch with your child in the cafeteria. There will be designated tables for lunch visitors. You may only eat with your child. No other learners may be invited to eat with you. You may purchase lunch in the cafeteria or bring a lunch with you.
4. Sign out in the office
Parents will be dismissed from the cafeteria. You will need to go back through the front office to sign out at the end of lunchtime. Parents will not be able to join their child(ren) back in the class or at recess.
Who can visit my child for lunch?
District guidelines limit lunchroom visitors at the elementary level to parents, immediate family members with written permission from a parent, and campus mentors. Immediate family members are defined as the student’s parents/step-parents, siblings, grandparents, or any person residing in the home. A parent can list the person(s) who have permission to have lunch for the entire school year.
If anyone other than the parent(s) listed as guardians in our district eschool system is eating with the child, we will need written documentation of your approval. I have attached a copy of the form below, and we will have copies in the office, as well.
Reminders
Library Volunteers
Background Checks
We ask that all families complete a volunteer background check. They do not carry over from year to year. Since the background checks take time to process, we ask that everyone complete one in case any type of volunteering opportunity (class field trip, Dads Club, Room parent, class volunteer, field day, etc.) arises during the year that you are interested in. Please click on the link below to complete.
