Dry Clothes/Extra Set in Backpack

As we change from winter to spring, boy, is it wet out there! The office needs your help in making sure your kiddos have clean, dry clothing in their backpacks, specifically socks and pants. Our playground has many new puddles forming, and we don't have a very large clothing closet to help all the kids that need dry clothing daily. Having said that, if you have gently used leggings or sweatpants you need off of your hands, we'd love to have them for both boys and girls. These clothing items are the best to fit a variety of sizes. Thank you so much! ~ Mrs. Debra

Midyear Residency Check

Parents and Caregivers,

In order to make certain all of our students receive appropriate educational support, Coeur d’Alene School District 271 conducts a mid-year residency verification. Residency is defined as where your family sleeps at night. Has your residency changed since September 15, 2022? If yes AND if any of the following statements are true for your family, please contact our Dalton School Counselor, Tami Frantzich, at 208-772-5364 or tfrantzich@cdaschools.org or the Coeur d’Alene School District McKinney-Vento Liaison, James Curb at 208-664-8241 ext. 10061 or jcurb@cdaschools.org for more information about educational services that may be available to your student(s) and family.

Note from the School Nurse: Winter Nosebleeds

If your child suffers from winter nosebleeds it may be from dry air.

Here are some helpful tips to try at home:

-Use a cold air humidifier at night in the bedroom

-Using saline nose drops or apply petroleum jelly inside the nose

-Avoid excessive nose blowing and/or picking

-Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration

Invent Idaho Regional Results!

Congratulations to our students Faith Schultz and Brian McNamee for their achievements while participating in the Invent Idaho Regionals.

-Faith Schultz earned a trophy for her book holder invention. She was the best in category for working models at the regional competition.

-Brian McNamee earned a second place ribbon for his non-working model for a kid friendly blood draw.
