From the desk of Mrs. Humphries
What a great time of the year! I am proud of how much our community gives during this time of the year. We have many programs that reflect the caring community culture that is growing through our district.
As the holiday season approaches, it is exciting to see the joy in the faces of our elementary school students. This time of the year it can be very busy. Sometimes schedules and added responsibilities can cause stress. Concerts, parties, family visits and so many other events seem to be packed into a limited amount of time. Scheduling can become an issue and we always seem to be looking for ways to complete our to-do list. There will be many activities for you and your family to enjoy during this Holiday season. The one activity and or gift that has shown to be the most important is the gift of extra time with someone you love. So as you are thinking about gifts for your loved ones, think about putting an I.O.U. for a one on one experience in his or her stocking. Hopefully years from now, during the holiday season, you and your child will remember many wonderful times spent together.
I would love to see photos of your family traditions. Please send those to Mrs. Humphries so that we can share with all of our staff and students. Thank you parents for doing your best to send your child ready to learn every day.
I am thankful to all of the people in our district who are committed to giving their best to our Decatur students. Thank you custodians, food service staff, bus drivers, school nurses, instructional assistants, secretaries, teachers, administrators, and members of the school board.
DCHS Football
Our DCHS Football team made it to the semi-state hosting Bloomington South on Friday, November 17th. Gold Academy sent a signed banner over to the high school to wish them luck. Several students participated in Black Out day to support the team!
"We are Thankful for You"
The office treated our staff to a flavored water bar the day before Thanksgiving Break. We are so thankful for our amazing staff!
