Free & Reduce Lunch Applications

As you may know, the federal government provides resources to those families needing financial assistance here at school through the free and reduced lunch program. What you may not know is that the school may also receive significant federal money through the same program. Up until this year, Yale Jr. High School has qualified for money from the federal government through the Title I program. It is based solely on the percentage of families that apply and qualify for the Free and Reduced Lunch program. Unfortunately, for the last two years we did not meet the minimum percentage required for the federal government to continue to provide this financial support. This year, we lost all funding for essential intervention and assistance programs like after school tutoring, credit recovery, and our academic intervention program during the day. There is little doubt that these programs positively impacted student learning and thus, our M-STEP scores. We are diligently working to find a solution for this year, but need your assistance to get back these important and necessary funds for the following years. Please review the chart below, and if your family qualifies for the Free and Reduced Lunch Program, please fill out an application. Even if you plan to provide lunch for your child(ren), by remitting your application, you will help provide the funds necessary for the programs mentioned earlier (It's about $70,000). These forms are due to the October 17, please fill them out as soon as possible and turn them into the office or send them by mail to YPSD Central Office 198 School Dr., Yale, MI 48097. In the first newsletter (paper copy), we included the application, an envelope, and stamp. Below are the application pages. You can also apply online.

We thank you for your support.
