2021 Volunteer of the Year
Congratulations to Ms. Kim Votava-White for being selected as our 2021 Volunteer of the Year. Ms. White has been instrumental in keeping our PTA efforts going strong in this strange year of COVID. When we had an abrupt vacancy in the President’s position, she jumped in without hesitation. It should be noted that although she has a son who will hopefully be playing baseball for us in the spring– he attends ODS, her other children have matriculated to high school. We are thankful for the hard work for our entire PTA Board, but Ms. White deserves special recognition. Thank you Kim!

VB Educational Foundation Grant Winners We are so excited that our Art Academy teachers, Ms. Baker and Ms. Provow, were awarded two grants through the Virginia Beach Educational Foundation. The two grants will have art students working collaboratively with the community as well as students in Ms. Kramarczuk's reading class. We are grateful to Quality Stone Concepts for underwriting these grants. | Ms. Provow is a published author We are excited that Ms. Provow has had her work published in School Arts Magazine. This is a new professional learning opportunity by the division to recognize teachers who wish to focus their growth. The Relationship Skills badge represents Ms. Collins commitment to ongoing, action-oriented, and reflective professional learning. |

We are only allowed to accept building visitors by appointment. Please contact the school and we will be glad to help you. Our Security desk is staffed at all times during business hours. If a parent or student needs to just drop something off and not enter the building, no appointment is necessary.
