EC Parent Newsletter #4
10/1/23
Dear Families of Lansing's Littlest Lions!
We have had a great 2 weeks filled with learning and fun!
Childcare families, thank you for your patience as we have been short staffed due to illnesses the last couple weeks. It has given staff the opportunity to meet work with different students and make more connections.
The ECSE/No-Fee teachers have had some Professional development on the new Frog Street curriculum and have learned how to incorporate the "Safe Keepers agreement" into their morning routines with their calming breathing techniques. The Safe Keepers agreement is that it's the teachers' job to keep students safe, and the students' job is to help them. Students help by making a commitment of having walking feet, listening ears, and/or helping hands.
Friendly reminder to please put first names and at least the last name initial on all items brought from home so that we are able to identify lost items. Also, please send back items that you do not recognize as you own and inform your teacher that you are doing so.
Don't forget to join us on facebook!

Protocol for entering the building:
As our safety needs continue to be met and we have additions to our building the Early Childhood Crisis Response Team are going to continue to update parents and community members with our protocols. The latest addition to our building that requires a protocol is our camera doorbells.
Childcare side:
Please ring camera doorbell and stand in front of it where we can see you. Please respond to the person speaking to you from the speaker. Parents have the option of picking up/dropping off their students in their classrooms or having a staff member do it for them. The Early Childhood Crisis Response Teams is working on funding for parents to have badges or stickers to wear in order for them be identified to everyone in the building. Please stay tuned for those details.
ECSE/No-Fee Classroom Side:
Our staff has been advised to ask everyone who comes to the door to state their name and the reason they are there before they enter. Upon entering the building, every guest will sign in, if they are going past the front entry way. Also, if a parent is picking up their student early from school, they are required to show their ID.
If there any questions, please contact Becca or Andrea
