Have you ever saw a police officer with a dog? That's called a k-9 unit i'm here to tell you all about it its a dog that is trained to fight of criminals however not just for catching criminal they also sniff drugs drugs are a illegal drink or food. Chapter 1: Dog detectives
Dogs are important members of a police squad. Most of them are born detectives. Police dogs can hear/smell/run/see 100% better than a average person they also have different blood cells. If you think that's cool well an average not trained dog can jump about 6 inches but a trained police dog can jump 2 feet off the ground!
Chapter 2 the K-9 team
Every dog is pared up with a handler when its ready. The handler is its owner. Every dog as to have a handler. The police dog always goes in first before the police officers.
Chapter 3 K-9 fitness
police dogs have to get very fit my mom says to stay fit. before they get a handler. The dog has to pass a test in which to see if its capeable of chellenges in the police squad. A police dog would risk his life for his partner. The k-9 unit is very inportant they are better than a police officer.
Chapter 4 Puppy test
The puppy test is a test that really's on its skill on sertent tasks. I know because i have a german sheperd. Police dogs get a bullet proof vest after they finish traing also the puppy test. Many puppy's do not pass the test but some do. Its rare for a dpg to fail.
