What I'm Reading.... (The •5)
Please get your READING Bitmoji to the google folder for your Reading sign to be posted out of your classroom door before Open House!
Legacy by James Kerr:
"Mantras are the way in which we tell our story to ourselves; they are tools for effective thinking, a mental roadmap in times of pressure."
This quote from my new read resonates with me. I am a sayings, quotes, mantras girl. You will find me with quotes of stickies all over the place: but E=R=O is my go to. It is the mental story I say to myself in every situation. Press Pause, get your mind right, and think your repsonse through before you make a decision. Your outcome will thank you for it! :)

Please get your BITMOJI to the google folder by 8/6/2018

Focus on......... Literacy (The •15)
Our #BeBCMS Moral Imperatives to an ELITE school are not changing. Do you remember them?
a. Come to School- BE AMAZING- Go Home! Repeat
b. Bell to Bell instruction
c. ALL instruction/teaching will be on grade level and standards based
d. Take a STAND for teaching and learning. Get up!
Focus On:
Literacy
We had great conversation and reflection during our first World Cafe. Out of those conversations, we agreed as a school Literacy at BCMS means:
- Reading
- Writing
- Speaking
- Communication
- Listening
As we move foward, we will begin to define what areas of Literacy we will hone in on a schoolhouse. At our first LWL Pop UP PL we will have another World Cafe to determine those areas.
Great work at our data meeting this week analyzing and looking at our data from GMAS and Lexile levels. Continue to reflect as you create ultimate learning expereicnes for your scholars.
Here is our lesson design template: (make a copy first) Get a jump on your planning for next school year! Our instructional framework is not changing!
Our Lesson Design rubric is here.
