Harrison Happenings

January 19-23

This week in Room 300...

I hope everyone had a great long weekend! We are almost done with our 2nd nine week assessments (woohoo!!)! We are continuing to learn more about addition in math. We are also finishing up our letter consonant sounds today with the letter Z. We will then begin learning our vowel sounds for the letter A and word families to go along with them. We will be concetrating on learning about penguins during our reading time this week.

Boosterthon

This Wednesday will be our Boosterthon Pep Rally for the students. This pep rally kicks off a week of fundraising for our school, and the finale of the week is a fun run! We are excited for this opportunity to raise money for an outdoor classroom for Spearman! Below you will see the schedule for the Boosterthon Spirit Days put on by our PTO.

Report Cards

The end of the last 9 weeks was last Wednesday. The report cards will go home this Friday, January 23rd in your child's folder. Please thoroughly look over the report card and return the gold envelope on Monday. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about your child's report card after you have looked over it. :)

Spearman Literacy Night

Spearman Literacy Night will take place next Tuesday, January 27th from 5:30 to 7:00pm. It will be a great night for you to learn more about reading and how to help your child at home! Dinner will be provided!

We are also asking parents to send in any new or gently used books that they are willing to donate towards our book swap that night!

Field Trip

You will be receiving a letter home today about our Field Trip to the circus on January 30th. We are very excited for this trip! Please be aware that only 2 parents will be permitted to attend the field trip due to the fact that tickets were preordered. We will choose the parents out of a hat this Friday, and I will e-mail them to let them know! We wish every parent could go, but since this is a more structured event than our last field trip, we had to limit the number. Please send in all money and permission forms by next Wednesday at the latest!
