Afterschool Tutoring 1st-5th

In our efforts to provide a variety of educational supports for the children who attend our school, Lakeview Elementary will be offering after-school tutoring program beginning on Tuesday, November 17. Specifically, this program will provide additional instructional support in the area of reading. This program will only be able to serve a limited number of students.

This program will be offered at Lakeview Elementary, and will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting November 17, 2015 and ending March 17, 2016. The program will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:20 p.m. - 4:20 p.m. A small snack will be provided for all students, and bus transportation home is available for qualifying students. PBIS Reteaching Lesson-Monday, Oct. 13th

After reviewing our August and September major referral data, it has been determined that disrespectful/disruptive behavior on the school bus continues to be an area of needed improvement. Our hope is that we can identify and implement effective strategies to reduce the number of major bus referrals by 25% over the course of the next quarter. All of the input you provided at the last faculty meeting has been summarized. This list of prevention, teaching and recognition strategies will be reviewed carefully by the PBIS Leadership Team. We will continue to communicate our plan of action through articles in the Pride Press over the next few weeks.

At this point in time, we ask you to continue to re-teach the bus expectations to all of your students. Simple reminders of "seat to seat, back to back and a voice level 1" will go a long way and will help our students be more successful on the bus. We appreciate your help in tackling this issue!

The PowerPoint where this lesson can be accessed is on the online binder under the PBIS tab>Lessons>click the link>click the About tab> scroll down to Reteaching Bus Expectations.
