Description of illness

Camplyobacteriosis is a bacteria that can be found in raw or under-cooked poultry, unpasteurized milk, and contaminated water. The illness spreads when the bacteria camplyobacter is taken in by mouth. It can affect anyone but is more common within children under 5 and young adults. there are 14 cases are diagnosed each year for each 100,000 people. An interesting fact:After the bacteria is taken in it takes between 2-5 days before you become ill!

Sypmtoms, treatment, prevention

-SYMPTOMS-

- Diarrhea(can be bloody)

- cramps

-fever

- vomiting


-TREATMENT-

-Mostly all cases of the illness recovers without any treatment. Its recommended that people infected should drink fluids as long as the diarrhea lasts.


-PREVENTION-

-Washing your hands after using the toilet.

-Always refrigerate foods.

-Don't eat raw or uncooked meat.

-Washing utensils immediately after use
