Call for Conference Proposals
You all are doing great things in your classrooms! Why not share them with a wider audience? Grab a colleague (or go it alone) and submit a proposal for the GWP Conference on September 25, 2018. The conference theme is Writing in the Real World: Authentic Tasks, Authentic Voices. Proposals that connect with the theme are especially encouraged!
We will be accepting proposals for 50 minute break-out sessions between now and June 15, 2018. Presenters will be notified of their acceptance by early July.
Write Outside Your Door
The Gateway Writing Project is excited to announce our collaboration with the Missouri Botanical Garden to co-sponsor a writing competition, complete with authentic audiences, opportunities to explore the great outdoors, and fabulous prizes!
Write Outside Your Door is a free writing competition that authentically integrates creative writing into the science and English language arts curriculums. In its inaugural year, Write Outside Your Door invites students from grades K - 12 to write about their experiences outside, with nature, and as stewards of the environment.
