A Message from Dr. Lowry
Timberwolf Family,
Well, the month of September has flown by like a leaf in the wind. Our students are adjusting to the school routines, and we are well on our way to a productive school year.
Our Timberwolf teams continue to dominate! Our football teams continue with success and all our volleyball teams won this past week. Congrats to them all!!! This week we have several events on the calendar including, PICTURE DAY, football, volleyball, and our first Choir and Orchestra Concert. Thanks to all that continue to support our WCJH students.
If you want a break from meal planning, don't miss our PTA's Spirit Night this week at Fajita Pete's on Monday, Oct 3rd from 4:00-9:00 pm.
On October 7th, we will be opening up our school-wide, positive behavioral interventions and support (PBIS) virtual store. Our PTA sponsors this program and helps us with the store reward distribution weekly. Our staff has already been awarding points for students who showcase Respect the PACK (Prepared, Accountable, Courageous, Kind) characteristics. Students can use these points to purchase many fun items. Be sure to ask your students about this and see how many Pack Points they have earned. Please see below for directions on how to award PBIS POINTS to our great staff.
Remember, parents, if you plan on volunteering, the district has some new guidelines for you to follow. Beginning October 1, the district will require all volunteers serving on campus, to register with the district through its Raptor security system. Please see below for more information.
As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Here’s to the start of a new grading period and another great week at WoodCreek.
GO TIMBERWOLVES!

October is National Bullying Prevention Month
In an effort to create a culture of kindness on our campus, the WCJH Counseling Department and School Social Worker will be facilitating guidance lessons on bullying prevention.
Students will participate in these lessons on Thursday, October 6th during PE and Athletics classes. The guidance lessons were created by KatyISD to ensure consistency across all campuses.
If you have questions about the lessons, please contact your child’s grade level counselor.

EMERGENCY CONNECTIVITY FUND GRANT PROGRAM
In connection with the Emergency Connectivity Fund grant, Katy ISD would like to inform you of the opportunity for your child to check out a district owned device. The purpose of the ECF program is to supply devices to meet the remote learning needs of students. Students who may benefit from these devices include:
a. Students who need a device – Digital Divide
b. Families who may only have one computer at home, but several students
c. Students in tutoring programs
Students will be loaned a Lenovo Chromebook to use at home. They will have access to the device for the entire year. The devices will need to be turned in on or before May 25, 2023. Students may be asked to return the device during state testing. If you would like further information or are interested in the program, please have you child go the library to pick up a form. Once the form is completed and signed, please return the form to the librarian and she will issue the device to your child. If you have any questions, please free to email them to S1660642@katyisd.org
Dyslexia-Awareness-Month
Dyslexia is one of the most common language-based learning disabilities. According to recent studies, approximately 1 in 5 people have dyslexia. This month, students and educators across the nation are raising awareness about the struggles associated with dyslexia. Recognizing the significant educational implications of this learning difference allows for increased opportunities to ensure early diagnosis and intervention for individuals with dyslexia.
Parents and educators can visit the Katy ISD Dyslexia Parent and Educator Canvas course to learn more about dyslexia and find resources to support their students. The course can be accessed by visiting https://katyisd.instructure.com/courses/181816.
