Week 24: February 7-February 11, 2022
The Sartartia Middle School Administrators are excited to celebrate a pretty spectacular event...TWO'S DAY is 2/22/22 and we cannot wait to celebrate with our teachers and staff.
Since coming back to work in August, we have witnessed our teachers and staff going above and beyond to ensure your child’s experience at school (despite being in the middle of a pandemic) is a positive and successful one. The Administrators have planned a day full of surprises that will show our hard-working teachers and staff just how much we appreciate them. In addition, students will participate in a gratitude lesson during Advisory Time and are allowed to participate in our dress up day. They will write TWO notes of appreciation to staff members at the conclusion of the lesson that will be delivered to staff members the following day.
We are sure that you will agree that our teachers and staff deserve this day of appreciation, and we would love for our parents/guardians to be able to show some support as well.
On Tuesday, February 22nd, we will have a "Taco Tuesday" luncheon while we celebrate teachers and staff and "lettuce tell you how much you are appreciated." We need your help to make this possible. If you would like to help sponsor this celebration, please click here to donate. The teachers and staff will know that their lunch treat was brought to them by our wonderful Jag parents/guardians.
Thank you so much for helping us give our teachers and staff a wonderful appreciation luncheon!
Sincerely,
Cholly Oglesby

FBEF Gala Basket Donations
On March 5th Fort Bend ISD will be having its Fort Bend Education Foundation Gala and schools around then district help with creation of auction baskets to raise money for the foundation.
Our basket theme this year is "date night". Please consider donating a gift card from your favorite restaurant so we can prepare a basket and help raise funds for FBEF. Items are due on Tuesday February 8, 2022. Money donations are also welcome and will be used to buy supplies to create the basket and extra gift cards
If you have any questions, please contact alinerozman@gmail.com.
Heritage Day
The SMS No Place for Hate Committee is proud to announce we have begun planning for Heritage Day. It is scheduled to take place Friday, March 11, 2022. Heritage Day is a campus wide celebration of the many diverse and unique cultures our students, staff, and community represent. The day allows students and families to share their background with others in creative ways. Because Heritage Day is a campus wide activity and all grade levels participate, we would LOVE to see as many parent and student volunteers as possible. You guys are what makes Heritage Day awesome!
Volunteer Opportunity 1: Host a table or “booth” to showcase your country of origin, something unique about your culture, and/or bring artifacts to show students. Some parents even include some type of small activity to engage students. (Activity is not required)

Volunteer Opportunity 2: Showcase your traditional dress by walking in our fashion show! We would like to see traditional dress from all around the world. Students can walk independently or with a friend. Clothing and Attire must be in line with FBISD dress code.
Volunteer Opportunity 3: Show us what you got! This is an opportunity to show off your talents related to your heritage such as playing an instrument, singing, dancing, or other performance pieces. Not a big performer? You could also put together an informational presentation to share your culture with others. Performances should be 3-5 minutes long.
