A Season of Gratitude

During this season of gratitude, I am grateful for the privilege of prayer. More specifically, I am grateful that we have opportunities to pray in community with the faculty, staff, students, and parents of Verbum Dei High School. One type of prayer Verbum Dei students are taught is the Examen.

The Examen is a prayerful reflection on the events of the day in order to detect God's presence and discern his direction for us. The community joins together to pray the Examen once per quarter. Theology classes pray the Examen once per week. On Examen days, teachers report fewer behavior incidences. This is not a coincidence.

I invite you to pray the Examen below. What changes do you notice in yourself? How do you feel? Enjoy!

Thank you Nestors!

Verb Faculty and Staff would like to thank Nestors (our Parent organization) for our special treat on Wednesday. We appreciate you!

Grad at Grad

The Grad at Grad is a list of six characteristics that all Jesuit, Cristo Rey schools hope their graduates will embody. For Verbum Dei, this list represents the overall goals of our academic, athletic, and spiritual programs.
