One Library Teacher : Multiple Literacies

Students need a teacher librarian now, more than ever, to help them navigate today's vast information landscape. Because information can be found in virtually any medium, digital, visual and media literacies have become increasingly important. A comprehensive library media curriculum covers all of these literacies with a focus on information literacy - the set of skills needed to access, locate, and use this information effectively and ethically. An information literate student is prepared for a lifetime of learning because that student knows how to find the information needed in any situation.
