Reicher Catholic High School Band is Back
The band program is restarting as an after-school program. Students entering the 5th-12th grade next school year (2018-19) are welcome and encouraged to join.
If the student has or doesn't have an instrument; if he/she plays or doesn't play an instrument; or if he/she knows or doesn't know what instrument he/she would like to play — please join us because everyone will begin to learn the basics together.
•When? Classes will be held each week on Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:30-4:30 in the High School Band Hall.
•How Much? The cost will be $75 a month plus a deposit of $100 if your child wants to use a school instrument. If the instrument is returned without major damage, half of the deposit will be returned. There also will be supplies for the instrument that will have to be purchased.
A meeting will be held in the Band Hall on May 3rd at 5:30 pm to introduce the students and parents to the program. At this meeting, you have a chance to see and hear instruments your child might be interested in playing. We will try to answer any questions you might have and give you a chance to make the decision to have your child join the band.
The Band Director will be Darwin Horak. He graduated from Southwestern University with a Music degree specializing in Music Education. He has seven years experience with public school bands, five years full-time experience and five years part-time experience in Catholic schools. In addition, he has provided accompaniment for his parish since the sixth grade.
