PBIS
-The PBIS ROAR Store We are in need of donations for the store. Students' requests are: visors, caps, shades, water bottles. Also if someone has hoodies or sweat shirts that you would like to donate, that would be great. Students may use last year's money for the ROAR Store only. They may not use last year's money for any recreational auditorium events. When giving money, you must write your name, the student's name, and date given. If this has not been done, the money is not valid for any recreational events in the auditorium.
-PBIS After School Snack Sales: Students may only use current money, signed by the teacher to include the date and student's name in order to purchase snacks when this becomes available.
-Peer Educators: I am keeping a roster of students who volunteer to serve as Peer Educators, teaching character education. Students will earn $5 of Monarch Money for each day that they teach a session. For example, if a student taught 2 sessions in September, they will redeem $10 from Dr. McDuffie at the end of the month. Students may only redeem money at the end of the day, right before the bell rings to go home. Students may sign up under my bio page: Click here

Social Worker
Hello
Meet Ms. Renee Jones, School Social Worker with Onslow County Schools. She serves Jacksonville Commons Elementary School, Jacksonville Commons Middle School and Northside High School. School Social Workers are trained mental health professionals with a degree in social work who provide services related to students’ social, emotional, and life adjustment to school and society. We are licensed by the Department of Public Instruction to work in the school environment. One of the primary roles of a School Social Worker is to provide outreach services to the homes; thus establishing a relationship between the home and school and serving as a link between the two, working with parents, guardians, teachers, and other school officials to ensure students reach their academic and personal potential. We analyze barriers to learning and achievement and develop and implement strategies to address and eliminate identified barriers to student learning. School Social Workers focus on consultation and collaboration with school staff to promote understanding and effective utilization of resources and services. School Social Workers help students increase academic success, improve interpersonal relationships, cope with crisis situations, learn problem-solving skills, improve attendance and build self-esteem. Jacksonville Commons Elementary is Ms. Jones base school.
Should you need her services, please do not hesitate to contact her at JCE.
