From The Principal
Tēnā koutou katoa,
This week brings some impressive sporting success, with great performances at our recent school Swimming Championships at Diocesan Aquatic Centre.
This was followed by an outstanding team effort from the 28 swimmers who went on to the Eden/Albert Zone Finals, securing 2nd place overall.
We had many skilled participants at both events, and I'd like to congratulate them all for stepping up and representing MENPS at such a high level. Honourable mention also goes to the following children, who placed in the Zone Finals:
- Elliot Copper: 1st Y5 25m freestyle, 1st Y5 25m breaststroke, 1st= Y5 25m backstroke, 2nd Open 50m freestyle
- Zach Chu: 2nd Y5 25m Freestyle, 2nd Y5 25m breaststroke, 1st= Y5 25m backstroke
- Jack Zhu: 3rd Y5 25m breaststroke
- Nate McKay: 1st Y6 25m breaststroke
- Alex Kerr: 2nd Y6 25m freestyle
- Tom Cullen: 3rd Y6 25m backstroke
- Elliot Cooper, Hayden Callander, Alex Kerr, Tom Cullen: MENPS Boys 4 x 25m freestyle (2nd Place)
Sincere thanks go to all of our parent helpers, teachers and also our Sports Coordinator, Karen Moore, for helping make the events such a success for the competitors.
Finally, a reminder of our early pick-up next Wednesday and Thursday (7th and 8th, 1pm) for the first of our conferences, which are still open for bookings at www.schoolinterviews.co.nz.
The conferences offer an invaluable opportunity to discuss your child's learning and identify goals and next learning steps. Parents of children in Years 4, 5 & 6 are also welcome to bring their child along and involve them in the discussion directly if they would prefer to.
We look forward to seeing you at the conferences and the opportunity to share more about your child's learning with you soon.

SORTING VOLUNTEERS
We need lots of volunteers to help sort toys and clothing in the hall. If you have 10 minutes or 40 minutes between 8.30-10.00am in the mornings we would love to have you help. We need about 10-20 people every day. Come on in - it's friendly, relaxed, a bit of fun, lots of banter and a great way to meet other parents.
