Park View Newsletter
Mrs. Wallerstedt. 08/13/21
In the last newsletter I covered our school schedule, new staff, our mask policy, the Healthy=Here parent booklet, technology information, lunch-snack information, arrival-dismissal information, Supply Drop-Off and Fall Curriculum Night information. That is a lot so please re-visit that newsletter if you need to.
On the first day of school (08/18) all students will return home with their new take home folders. Inside will be a lot of important information that will help you both start strong. One item I want to highlight is our Panther Student Handbook. Please read the handbook with your child(ren) to make sure you all understand the different procedures and expectations at Park View. Even 5th graders need those reminders of how we do things here so all Panthers are safe and have positive experiences and friendships at school everyday.
Our Raptor system has been updated this year. This security software scans your license or state ID to check for registered sex offenders. All schools must have this in place for volunteering/visitor purposes. If you are coming to school for any event you will need to have your Illinois license/ID scanned even if you did this in the past because of the updates.
If you are bringing your child to Park View after the school day has started you will need to come into the office to sign them in. This helps us with proper attendance numbers which becomes very important during drills, or in case of emergency situations.
The teachers have been preparing all week for your children to return. They are very excited to start and are planning for a fantastic year. Please share with your child(ren) your excitement for their new school year. We will continue to use our mitigating procedures of masking, hand-washing, distance, disinfection of surfaces, and bipolar ionization in our air systems to keep the environment as clean and virus free as possible. You can read about this and more in our Stay Open Schools Plan.
