Learning from home with Mrs. Justice, Principal

It is my fondest hope that our students and our families are healthy and learning. I have enjoyed seeing some of our students in the Zoom meetings with their teacher this past week. I want to encourage all of you to have your students meet with their teacher if they are having ZOOM meetings. It is a good time to connect with your student to see if they are having any problems with their learning or ask clarifying questions. Thank you for helping your students learn from home. We want each child to continue their education so they are prepared adequately for the next grade level. The governor has declared that all school buildings are closed for classes for the 2019-2020 school year and that Missouri will finish this quarter using virtual learning.

From Mrs. Vega in the Office

Mrs. Vega will be in the office on weekdays during school hours to answer any questions you may have. Please call for an appointment if you need to come into the office or check out a Chromebook. Summer School forms were due by April 6th. Late forms can still be dropped off in the Lending Library in front of the school. At this point, it is unknown whether summer school will be in the buildings or online.

Please keep posting those positive messages on the front doors! We have had some really great ones!

Kindergarten registration will be May 12, 13, & 14. More information will be provided in the coming weeks.

We do need to have all families fill out their annual intent to return forms. It should be filled out whether you are returning or not returning. It can be reached at the button below.

2020-2021 Parents' Annual Intent to Return

Please click the button above to go to the form. Please fill out as soon as possible with what you expect to happen for the next school year. One form per family. Thank you to all the families that have already filled this out!

A shout-out from some Thayer teachers!

The specials rotation schedule

This is to remind you that everything does not need to be done every day. The special teachers have lessons planned for the week and each student should try and complete at least one lesson for Art, P.E. and Music each week.

From Mrs. Akery in the Art Room

Lots of art lesson ideas and tutorials are on my Thayer page. I know that some of you do not have your art boxes at home and maybe low on supplies. Do what you can do, when you have time to do it. Show me your artwork! Click here to find directions to upload your work to Artsonia or you can take a photo and email it to me directly.

From Ms. Smith in the Music Room

Music Bingo items are going well. Please continue to submit items through FlipGrid (My code: MusicSmith1964) and Music Google Classroom (Each Classroom has its own code that was sent with Remind but if you need it, feel free to contact me). I am communicating through Remind, some of you are sending pictures through that. I am posting Assignments on My Google Classroom page, so I hope students will start posting there. It accepts video and pictures. Please take a picture of handwritten work to post. Students are allowed to do some performance items with their siblings. That is acceptable, please post on each child’s page. You can contact me through Remind or email me.

From Coach Rowland in the gym

See the lesson plans on my school page. If you need to contact me, send me an email.
