Descriptions

Carbohydrates provide energy for your muscle groups and central nervous system, while also enabling fat metabolism. They prevent proteins from being used as energy because carbs are a preferred source of energy for muscle contractions. These are absorbed into the bloodstream and distributed to muscles, tissues, cells, and the brain.

Effects

If you are not taking in enough carbs you will notice a lack of energy and physical fatigue. Also a low intake carb diet has been directly linked to mild depression. Taking in carbs releases serotonin in the brain which is the chemical for happiness and satisfaction but a low carb diet provide lower levels of this chemical in the brain causing symptoms of mild depression.
